Mexico City Study Tours

With no BRT routes currently in Massachusetts, how can local business, civic, and political leaders truly understand what BRT would mean to their community? To close this knowledge gap, the Barr Foundation and the Institute for Transportation & Development Policy (ITDP) led a series of study tours to Mexico City, allowing local leaders from the Boston region to experience world-class BRT firsthand.

In December 2013, a group of transportation, development, and community leaders from Boston took a learning tour to Mexico City, to get a firsthand look at its world-class transportation network. This video offers highlights from the trip and inspiration for Boston and other modern cities looking for better ways to get more people where they want to go more quickly, efficiently, and safely.
